Ramen Making Classes & Team Building Events in Tokyo

Welcome to Baba Ramen, where we open the doors of our Tokyo ramen school to groups, companies, and curious cooks from around the world. We're not a tourist cooking experience — we run a working ramen kitchen, and our classes are built on the same techniques, recipes, and culture that we teach to aspiring ramen chefs every single day. Whether you're planning a corporate team building event in Tokyo, a private group cooking class, or a cultural experience during your trip to Japan, we'll take you behind the counter and into the world of real ramen.

What Makes Our Ramen Class Different

Most cooking classes in Tokyo give you a pre-made broth and walk you through noodle-pulling for 30 minutes. We do things differently. Head Chef Andrew Baba and our team of instructors have spent years inside Japan's ramen industry — from traditional shops to modern kitchens — and our classes reflect that depth. You'll learn why tonkotsu broth takes hours to develop its richness. You'll understand the science behind noodle texture and how it pairs with different soup bases.

We cover multiple regional styles — Tokyo shoyu, Fukuoka tonkotsu, and more — so you walk away understanding not just how to make a bowl, but why each style tastes the way it does. Every class is hands-on, interactive, and taught in English. We keep our group sizes small so every participant gets real time at the counter. And at the end of every session, we sit down together and eat the ramen we've made — because that's how it works in a real ramen shop.

Corporate Team Building & Private Events in Tokyo

We specialize in team building cooking events for companies, organizations, and private groups visiting or based in Tokyo. Our corporate ramen workshops are designed to bring teams together through a shared, hands-on challenge — because making ramen requires collaboration, communication, and a little bit of chaos, which is exactly what makes it such a powerful team building activity.

Here's how a typical corporate event works: we divide your group into teams, each responsible for a different component of the ramen — broth, noodles, toppings, and final assembly. Teams work together under the guidance of our chefs, and at the end, everyone sits down to enjoy the results together. It's competitive, collaborative, and genuinely fun — the kind of experience that creates real bonds and memorable stories.

We've hosted teams from international companies, Tokyo-based offices, and corporate retreats from around the world. We can come to you or rent out a space in Tokyo and accommodate private groups, and we work with you to customize the experience — whether that means adjusting the menu, adding a competitive challenge format, or tailoring the difficulty level to your group. We also collaborate with partners like Tokyo Weekender for larger corporate events and brand activations.
